Urban panoramas

I’ve been working with a real estate consulting firm the past few months, photographing some of their projects in Hanoi and Danang. Most of the shoots were at construction sites, in varying stages of development. Here’s an image shot from the roof of a hotel in Hanoi, overlooking the southern edge of Hai Ba Trung district, and one of the relatively new construction sites. The image is actually a panorama of about 6 single frames stitched together in-computer using Autopano Pro. Pretty amazing stuff. It’s hard to see in this online image, but you can blow up panoramas done with this software to insane sizes and you’d be hard-pressed to find much residual evidence of stitching.
